Day 1

Arrival and overnight in Arusha.


Day 2
The Oldest Lutheran Mission

After breakfast, drive up to Ilboru to visit the oldest Lutheran Mission established in 1893. The church building currently serves as a special museum where items, artifacts and materials depicting the long journey of Christian mission work in the region is being kept. It’s also used for choir practices and meetings. Enjoy a short tour and history of the church.


Day 3
Maasai Girl’s Secondary School

Day will be spent visiting either of the 2 Maasai girl’s Secondary schools in Monduli district (Maasai Girls Secondary school run by the Lutheran Church and Enywarate Engai – translated “Love of God” is run by Catholic sisters of St Anne. This school was started to aid Maasai girl’s deprived off education although they do accept children from other communities to support running cost of the school as the deprived Massai girls are on sponsorship). A visit to the Monduli area also allows people to witness first-hand how the local Maasai, live. They will have the opportunity to hike with a Maasai villager and also visit a Maasai boma. Picnic lunches will be taken en route. Return to Arusha for dinner and overnight at the Arusha Hotel.


Day 4
Tarangire National Park

Drive to Tarangire National Park for a full day game drive, picnic lunches en route. Dinner and overnight at the Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge.


Day 5
Lake Manyara National Park

Drive to Mto Wa Mbu Centre en route to Lake Manyara National Park and stop to visit a Technical College, Dispensary and Church run by the Catholic Church. Later drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive. Overnight at Kirurumu Manyara Lodge.


Day 6
Ngorongoro National Park

Drive to Ngorongoro for a full day crater tour. Overnight Kirurumu Manyara.


Day 7
Visit an Orphanage in Arusha

Drive back to Arusha stopping by an orphanage (due to AIDS aged between 5-12yrs) and dispensary in the Kisongo Area funded by the Catholic Church. Return to the Arusha Hotel for dinner and overnight.


Day 8
Arusha Town Lutheran Church

Attend mass in Arusha at either the Arusha Town Lutheran Church or Catholic church with English mass beginning at 10:00am and/or the Anglican church with mass starting at 11:00am. There is also the Arusha community church that runs services in English on Sundays however this is mainly for the expatriate community and therefore should clients want to congregate with the locals, then the other churches would be recommended). Lunch in town with day room use. Early evening transfer to back to Kilimanjaro for departure flight.
